Joan Collins eye make up!!

Hi guys, as I said last week I am super into the Joan Collins look eye make up.( very young shot here I know).....See how the bottom liner is winged down a little??...I think it makes the eye look super glam.........I have been wearing my eyes similar to this for a couple of weeks now.......I use a gel liner with a super fine brush to do this.........there are a variety of gel liners that you can use....You can go cheap and cheerful by using Maybelline gel liner in black ( under $20 and super great).the incredible Inglot gel liner $25 ( this is a Polish brand available form Bondi Junction in one of those shops in the middle of the isle .....near the Diva shop)....or even if you want to spend a bit more you can use Bobbi Brown ( under $50).....but really the cheaper ones work just fine......You do have to clean your brush properly after each use as it sets really hard !!!!.......You must use a proper brush cleaner ( from good make up stores) or just some isocol ( rubbing alcohol available from chemists and supermarkets)....pop a little on a tissue and wipe the brush.....
If you find that black liner looks a little harsh....I sometimes find this, as I don't have many eyelashes.......You may want to use a brown liner first....you can line the eye all around with the brown do it a little thick.....then go really close the the lash line and put a super fine black line there......it gives you the pop without the harshness.................play a little , its only make up.....you can take it off if it doesn't work...........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY.....
Have fun my pretties...........love lots Ren xxoxxooxoxxoxoox

I am back!!!!!!!!!Stay don't Stray????...whatever do I mean???

Stay don't Stray????......It conjures up a whole heap of ideas..........But you know what it is?????...Its a SUPER DOOPER FABULICIOUS  eye make up primer from our lovely friends at Benefit....For one, its in super cute and convenient  little tube with a pump top.....I have been using this product all week and have to say it really works......I use it by applying my foundation first.....then a quick little pump and the pale coloured cream comes out on your finger and you simply just dab it all over the eye area, including underneath the bottom lashes..........it kinda feels ever so slightly chalky-ish, but not dry......Then pop your fave eyeshadow and eyeliner on, then mascara .....You can also use it to prime your concealer under you eyes!!!!!!!!!! YES you CAN!!!!!!!.........Whoopie!!!!!!!!!!!!!..........I do think it almost works as a concealer anyway ,as it seems to brighten the area you have applied it to......I found that my eyeshadow stays vibrant all day and my eyeliner stays put also.......I have been wearing the 'ol Joan Collins inspired eyeliner this week ( liner top and bottom with winging at the edges of both lines) and I have to tell you its really helped to make all that black stick very nicely thank you very much!!!!
So buy buy buy....a little goes a very long way and it sells for about $45.....you can get it from the Benefit store in Oxford St Paddington or any Myer store......
I give this product and big pink fingernail THUMBS UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...
Be good and talk soon!!!!!! love ya Renee xoxoxoxoxoxoxxoxoxoxoxo

BARGAIN foundation!!!!!

Well.....I have started using the new Rimmel Match Perfection cream gel foundation......BAAAAARRRRRRRGAIN under $20!!!!!!!!!!!......you can get it at Priceline and DJ's....and probably a few big chemists as well......it comes in a little flat glass tub ( so be careful not to drop it on a tiled floor!!!!.....oooops)
They say it adapts to your skin's texture and tone.....well well well........actually its not bad at all!!!!!!.....I got the lightest colour they had 100 Ivory....and in the container it honestly looked a little dark and a bit orange!!! PANIC!!! PANIC....MORE PANIC!!!!......I bravely put on my primer ( that will be in another post....gotta keep you guessing for now).......and using my fingers applied some of the cream.......now, its quite thick but it spreads really easily, and with the warmth of your fingers its really easy to work into your skin......You gotta rub it in!!!!!. rub rub rub........then you get a nice sheer yet medium coverage.....( you could apply with a sponge, but really I think this one is better with warmth)....A light dusting of translucent powder and TAA DAH!!!!! its done!!!!!!.......Woo hoo......it is actually an amazing colour!!!!!.....looks super natural and covers ya bits that you want to cover...........It also stays on all day and doesn't slide off or change colour.........I LIKEY!!!!!!I likey alot!!!!............I would say buy it!!!!............
Be good and great to see the sunshine!!!!!!!!! love lots Ren xoxoxoxo

MASCARA!!! Woo hoo!!!!

Where would we be without it????...According to the latest "Make Up Store" booklet apparently the oldest archaeological find of eye makeup was found in Egypt and they think they were about 12,000 years old.......Now I love make up, but I think I could have got an infection or two had I have given that stuff a go!!!!!!.........The other spooky thing was.. wait for this.........during the Middle Ages Europe became more influenced by the church and they actually BANNED make up!!!!!! oh my goodness, my heart is beating irregularly !!!!!......Fortunately we don't have such rules now....phew.......where would we be???????
What does set my heart a flutter is mascara.......you always feel a little more girlie and 'dressed' with your eyes done.......I  seem to have always had a problem finding the 'perfect' mascara...Lucky for us we don't have to use 'cake mascara' anymore.......it was like a eyeshadow cake and people used to spit on it and use a brush to pop it on the 'ol lashes!!!! YUMMY!!!!!!!DELICIOUS!!!!!..
Panda eyes are POO....There is nothing worse than worrying if its all oozing down your face, whilst in that cool wind that makes your eyes water, watching that sad movie, getting that fabulous present from someone that gives you a tiny tear or two, eating a hot curry, or just having greasy eyelids!!! ( this is my problem....ugh, it just about makes it impossible to keep mascara on!!! )
I have tried oodles and oodles of mascaras.....from top end to most popular....believe me.....I have probably tried it......Lots of them claim to be waterproof and long wearing, but really only few truly deliver!!!!.....
I also have tiddly- widdly lashes, so I need one that is going to make my lashes look as thick and as long as possible.....I also recommend curling your lashes first with a quick squeeze of a lash curler ( practise makes perfect with those things, make sure you open the curler before removing it from your eye area....you will learn this lesson the hard way otherwise.......)

So.....here is my top 3 mascaras.......waterproof of course.......

1/ Shiseido- lasting lift mascara.....this one, and only this one ( the actually waterproof one that they have is nowhere near as good).........it has a super skinny wand that makes even getting those teeny ones super easy.........it lifts up your lashes and actually holds them there until you take it off......which is quite hard to do.....soak a cotton pad in waterproof eye makeup remover and hold it up to the eye until it softens  (Natio has a super good remover is and cheap$$$$$$12 or so get it at Priceline)...One trick with this one as well, is to scrape most of the product back into the tube before painting the lashes, the less you have on the brush the better!!!!!!!!!....its under $50 in the stores and get it at Strawberry Net even cheaper....

2/ Laura Mercier waterproof mascara........again gives super hold and lasting lift....easy to apply , nothing tricky to do......under $50 in store and also at Strawberry Net for even less

3/ YSL Everlong waterproof .........funny plastic brush , but awsome lift and lasting power.......I have only ever purchased this one on Strawberry Net for like $30....would be heaps more in the shops....

HINTS- make sure you don't pump the wands up and down in the tubes....forces too much air in there and dries out the product
Dont keep it till it dries up like a prune....eeeeeewwwww....germs.......you should really replace every 6 weeks!!!!!!

Hope this helps for your next shopping trip!!!!!! love ya Ren xoxoxox

Who is that GHOST in the photo?????????????

EEEEEKKKKK why do I get a fluro white face when I have a photo at night with a flash???????....it just looks freaky!!!!.....Quite often its because most of the foundations we use today have SPF in them and can contain titanium dioxide ( DONT BE ALARMED!!!! its a sunscreen!!!!)....There are also lots of makeups that have light reflective properties to make us look younger darling and more smooth........The ONLY problem with these FAB inventions is that when a flash bulb goes off in front of them, bada-bing bada-boom it bounces off your face like little mirrors, creating the ghost face!!!!!!!!!!! Not a good look........
One way to avoid this is to hunt around for a foundation that contains no sunscreen....kinda hard to do these days.....Giorgio Armani has a beautiful one called Luminous Silk ( available at DJ's and Myer)....its not the cheapest one on the market , but a little goes a long way....( it is under $100.....just).....and like I have said previously Showface at the rocks (www.showface.com.au/ ) have lots of foundations that are used for photoshoots and tv so they have no reflective bits in them.....
If you do use these makeups , be sure to only wear them at night , or if you are going to be inside...UNLESS you put a sunscreen underneath them!!!!! WRINKLES otherwise my beauties!!!!!! that means more trips to Dr Naomi.....( even though we do love to see her!!!!!! ) , and also you may risk the dreaded skin cancer.....shudder!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Another HOT TIP!!!!!!!!!!!! to look better when using a flash in photos.......is to place a tissue over the flash.....it still lets the light through, it just softens it....IT WORKS.....its pretty pretty.(experiment with one ply and two ply).....and number 2 HOT TIP!!!!!......is to place a business card/ credit card, or any other bit of paper directly under the flash bulb on an angle and bounce the flash light up to the ceiling...it still creates the flash and the light, but doesn't flood your face.......its like you have lost 10 years without even trying!!!!!!!!!!! YAYAYAYYAYAYAYAYAYAY............Give it a go and experiment..( that's the joy of digital )....it helps !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Be good and talk soon...love Ren xoxoxoxoxox

What are the hair trends???????

People always ask....What are the trends and what is everyone doing???.....Well, I always seem to notice that whatever is in this week, is usually always out next week.......The spooky thing is, if I say like yay do a fringe...that's what the latest look is.....then unfortunately the week later...ooooooops....you now have a fringe that takes like 6 months or more to grow out!!!!!.....Looking over New York fashion week a couple of months ago....There was EVERY style from messy bed heads, neat as a pin librarian looks, high school braids, glam rock quiffs, messy braids with pully out bits everywhere....the list went on and on!!!!!!!!!!!!.........Fashion and hair trends are so diverse and different and ever changing that you honestly need to do what looks best on you and what feels comfortable.....
Some people can think of nothing more fun than fussing over their hair and spending ages doing it every time, whilst others are just a fluff and go!!!!!!....Thats cool....
The best thing about feeling confident and up to trend is to do whatever YOU feel good about......
There is no better feeling as when someone feels happy with their look, if its a simple bob or a granny set or a super dooper boffy do...........
You just have to look after what you have- by using the best possible products you can afford, keeping it simple and not over thinking your look............just be YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ( this all sounds a bit deep and heavy for me now!!!!! hahahahahahahah) Love ya xoxoxoxoxoxox

RESULTS- Road test French Foundation

Is the By Terry Lumiere Foundation worth the $158?????........When I opened the container I swear I heard angels singing........it truly is a beautiful smelling and textured foundation....it goes on your face like silk............did the claims live up to expectation????.....hmmmmmm...not really.......would I buy it???......don't think so.....look, the colour range was a kind of tricky one.....they were either really light or a bit yellowy .....or even a bit pink!!!.....unfortunately it didn't make my wrinkles look any better.....I still needed to see the lovely Dr Naomi to sort those wrinkles out.......so the fountain of youth was not found in that foundation.....POO!!!!!!!!!!
One foundation I do love ( see pic above....sorry about the grubby lids!!!) and its INCREDIBLE BANG FOR BUCK is found at a professional make up shop called Showface http://www.showface.com.au/.....They are in the rocks area in Sydney....they have this amazing range called...TSZ foundation.....its a silicone based product that is actually designed for air brush makeup ( that machine is for another day...I have one and will tell you about it )......But the goodie part of this story is that you don't need an expensive machine to apply this make up......the TSZ foundation is super cheap...its only $39.50 for a 35ml bottle........Its super dooper amazing.....it stays on ALL day....sweat proof is soooooooooo flattering , it doesn't gloop or stick to any craggy lines or wrinkles!!!!.........its lovely an sheer and you can build it up if you like........I often apply it with my fingers or even use a sponge....a couple of drops goes a long long way.......You can order this product , along with lots of other stuff they sell online....but I would suggest going to the store and getting them to help you get just the right colour......I am quite pale and have no. 4 and also no.3 ........One thing you have to be sure of is that you are not allergic to silicone based products...some people are....so just check that first....to finish just use a fine translucent powder........PRETTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love lots ....see you soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! xoxoxoxoxoxoxo

How regular will I be??????

I mean , as in how many blog posts of course!!!!!......I will try to do at least one per week.....and if I get super excited, like tonight....it may be more!!!!......don't forget if you are looking for something in particular....just ask and I will try to steer you in the right direction, also save you a bit of running around and hopefully money as well!!!!!!xoxoxoxoxoxo

ROAD TEST- French foundation

Is it really worth spending $158 on a foundation???????????????............What the ?.......you say?......I am about to test the Lumiere Veloutee Ultra Correcting Fluid Foundation from By Terry......Now, if you can take all that in, it claims to hide imperfections, conceal the signs of ageing and fatigue and many other juicy things that keeps us all buying these expensive goodies........By Terry is a French brand of cosmetic and the founder is Terry de Gunzburg and is world famous for creating lots of the products we know and love...In Australia we pay super dooper top dollar for this brand....if we were in America, it would be almost half......sigh.............that still makes it a very expensive purchase anyway......So stay super tuned.....I may look YEARS YOUNGER and you may not recognise me!!!!!!!!!......I could have just found THE fountain of youth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! in a jar ...for only $158!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...hehehe we will see............

Floppy hair????

Oh dear......that's not a good problem.....but be very thankful that you have hair!!!!!........Aveda has some great products.....Pure Abundance is a fab range......its has this amazing clay ingredient that makes your hair feel full and thick.......its also humidity resistant!!!! good times.......there is also a hair potion that is like a fine fine dust that you sprinkle into your hair after you have shampooed and conditioned and dried your hair........it has acacia gum in it that magically boosts your hairs volume.........you just shake it and rub it in......................
I also find dry shampoos also work very well for giving your hair lots of body.........because I know that clean clean hair is the worst thing for finey's...........the dry shampoo creates the bulking agent to give your hair that "not so clean feel"......but its super clean, just with BODY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..........any brand is actually good to use.....there are lots of different priced ones out there.........They do spray white ( there are some coloured ones...hard to find and can mark the skin)......so I suggest spraying in....and then running the blowdryer with a brush through your hair so that it disperses the product............that works really well
I also suggest when you wash your hair , only use a teeny bit of conditioner mainly on the mid-lengths and ends..........comb it through SUPER fast in the shower and throughly wash it out straight away....DONT WAIT just wash..................
